Club History

History of Our Club

Our club was chartered in 1947 with 27 members. Our sponsor is the Pearisburg Lions Club. “We Serve” is our motto.

Over the years, we have given much to our local, state, national and international communities.

One of our most gratifying projects was to help a young boy to hear by raising money to help fund a cochlear implant when the procedure was first being developed. In conjunction with the Pearisburg and Rich Creek Lions clubs, we held several successful fund raisers that allowed the implant operation to be performed. The result? The boy was able to hear.

Our club has supplied leaders for both local and the state Lions Clubs organization. Over the years, 2 District Govenors, a Zone Chairman, a White Cane Chairman, and a Fall Conference Chairman have come from our club. We take “We Serve” seriously.
